Description

John or Jean Rocque was a native of France and eventually became topographer to the king of England. He published various plans and views, but this set was not issued until the year after his death, in 1762, by Mary Ann Rocque. The maps are usually credited to Peter Andrews, as engraver, though only nos. 1, 7, 27 and 30 are signed
