Description

The geographical illustrations are from paintings and sketches by the author, and the beautiful reproductions of the large pictures give a vivid idea of the wealth of color in plant, soil and sky as one ascends the tropical plains of Marecaibo [sic].

Large 4to, 76pp. text in German, map, 12 fine chromolithographed plates mounted on card, 54 wood-engraved vignettes in text, original publisher's decorated cloth backed boards, title in gilt on pictorial upper cover, decorated endpapers, gilt edges.
